  • All-optical networks uses variant: “WDMA”
• Combination of time/frequency: CDMA
  • Code Division Multiple Access
  • Divvy up both time and frequency into a 2-d grid of slots
  • Frequency Hopping CDMA: each user is assigned a different frequency in each time slot
